Our Approach to Psychiatric Care

Psychiatric treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Your treatment plan may include psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic assessment, medication management, education, supportive interventions, and coordination with other healthcare professionals when clinically appropriate.

What we provide

Services

All appointments are currently both physical and virtual, through secure telehealth. An initial evaluation is required before treatment recommendations are made.

  • Psychiatric evaluation

A comprehensive evaluation to understand your current concerns, symptoms, history, and treatment goals.

  • Diagnostic assessment

A careful assessment to help identify potential concerns and determine an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan.

  • Medication management

When medication is recommended, it is approached thoughtfully, with attention to effectiveness, safety, potential side effects, interactions, and ongoing response.

  • Follow-up care

Follow-up frequency is individualized to your treatment needs, medication changes, response to treatment, and clinical stability.

  • Patient education

Clear information about your treatment options, so you can understand them and take part in decisions about your care.

  • Supportive interventions

Supportive interventions may be included as part of an individualized plan, alongside evidence-based psychiatric treatment.

  • Care coordination, when clinically appropriate

Coordination with other healthcare professionals, and referrals when therapy, additional specialty services, or a higher level of care would benefit your treatment. Traditional psychotherapy is not currently provided as a primary service.

Our approach

We consider the whole person—not just the symptoms.

Treatment may take into account

  • Mental health history
  • Medical history and current medications
  • Family and social history
  • Current symptoms and functional concerns
  • Previous treatment experiences
  • Individual goals and preferences
  • Cultural, personal, and spiritual values

When medication is recommended, treatment is approached thoughtfully, with attention to effectiveness, safety, potential side effects, interactions, and ongoing response.

Faith-informed care

Your values matter.

We respect the cultural, spiritual, and personal beliefs that shape each individual's understanding of mental health and healing.

For patients who desire it, care may incorporate faith-informed and meaning-centered support alongside evidence-based psychiatric treatment.

Faith-based conversations are always optional and guided by your preferences. Our goal is never to impose beliefs, but to respect and support the values that are meaningful to you.

Appointments

Care in the setting that suits you.

All appointments are currently both physical and virtual, through secure telehealth.

Telehealth privacy and confidentiality

Telehealth appointments are conducted through secure telehealth technology designed to support confidential healthcare communication. Please join from a private and secure location whenever possible.

Is telehealth right for everyone?

Telehealth may not be suitable for every person or clinical situation. Suitability is assessed during your evaluation. If your needs call for a higher level of care or in-person services, an appropriate referral may be recommended.

A safe space to begin

You deserve care that listens, understands, and treats you as a whole person.

Starting psychiatric treatment can feel difficult, especially if you have never sought mental health care before. Whether symptoms are interfering with your daily life or you simply want to better understand what you are experiencing, a psychiatric evaluation can help identify potential concerns and explore appropriate treatment options.
